The Louis Poulsen PH5 Pendant Light series by Poul Henningsen was essentially designed and engineered to solve the issue of glare generating from the traditional light bulb. It was back in the 1920s that Poul Henningsen has started calculating and experimenting the dazzling light issue. The original Louis Poulsen PH 5 Poul Henningsen started production in 1958. The PH5 lamp is named after its top shade, which is 5 dm or 50cm. While the PH 50 represent high gloss version of PH5. As beautiful as its form, Louis Poulsen PH 50 or PH5 Pendant is consists of three reflective shades that radiate downward which is designed to provide glare-free light. Louis Poulsen PH 5 is finished in powder coated matte white with supporting white struts between the shades. Other glare-free designer light series besides PH5 Light includes Louis Poulsen PH 3/2, PH 4½, PH Snowball, PH Artichoke and 3 Tier Overlay pendant.
