George Nelson Bubble Pear Premium Pendant is part of the Bubble Lamp series designed by George Nelson in 1947. Commissioned by Howard Miller, the light was produced and sold as the Bubble Lamp Series in the early 1950s until 1979. Widely regarded as one of the classics of American modernism, the George Nelson Bubble Lamp series is a permanent feature collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. It brightens up the surround area with timeless curves through the ingenious cocoon fabric creates a soft diffused light. This pendant is constructed from a super lightweight wire frame, covered with a woven white polymer cocoon material and sprayed over with a protective coating. This lamp looks especially attractive when it is hung and suspended at different lengths and heights together with Bubble Saucer, Saucer Criss Cross, Bubble Apple, Bubble Cigar or Bubble Ball.
