This light fitting is an iconic sculptural Bubble Saucer Lamp pendant light by George Nelson. It is part of the larger Bubble Lamp series designed back in 1947. Howard Miller then went on to produce the series in the early 1950s until 1979. The George Nelson Light is now regarded as one of the finest classics of American modernism design. The George Nelson Bubble series lighting is made of polymer cocoon coating material over white powder coated steel wire-frame, coupled with metal chrome or white powder coated ceiling canopy. Other George Nelson Light available are Apple, Ball, Cigar, Criss Cross and Pear. They look sensational, especially hang in a group with different height arrangement over a void entrance or stairwell. They are well suited for any architectural commercial project as well as for the modern home environment. Other shapes, sizes and custom made of George Nelson lights are available upon request. I ordered this light in mid-November 2020 and considering everything that was going on at the time the delivery 2 months later was was fine. Communication via email is excellent and the delivery date was given once the items landed in Australia and it was accurate. The pendant light itself is of good quality and not too flimsy i.e. reasonably careful installation as for most lights doesn’t cause damage to the light. I have installed a daylight/cool white globe and it lights up to a crisp white with no yellow overtones. I did look at originals from America, however they were very expensive and condition was not easy to ascertain online, some did have an aged yellow tone to them in the photos, so very happy with this lamp. It is installed in a bedroom with Dulux Surf Wash on the Walls and white trim in a Mid-century modern brick-veneer house and it looks very much at home!
