The George Nelson Bubble Ball Pendant Lamp is part of the Bubble Lamp series designed by George Nelson in 1947. Commissioned by Howard Miller, the light was produced and sold as the Bubble Lamp Series in the early 1950s until 1979. Widely regarded as one of the classics of American modernism, the George Nelson Bubble Lamp series is a permanent feature collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. It brightens up the surrounding area with its timeless curves through the ingenious cocoon fabric, creating a soft diffused light. This vintage pendant is constructed from a super lightweight wire frame, covered with a woven white polymer cocoon material and sprayed over with a protective coating. George Nelson Ball Pendant looks especially attractive when hung or suspended at different lengths and heights together with other lights from the George Nelson Bubble series such as the Apple, Bubble Saucer, Cigar, Criss Cross and Pear.
